Life is pointless without Heaven as a goal
Hello
everyone! Happy New Month!
We
are in the month of November, I pray that this month will be a prosperous,
flourishing and thriving month for you all. You deserve it!
Today’s
blog topic is; ‘ Life is pointless without Heaven as a goal’
I
came across a video on TikTok where a man was speaking about life and he stated:
‘We are all born on this planet, working 5 to 7 days a week, to make money that
we spend our whole life trying to get as much of it as we can, so that we can
live comfortably, but the only thing that is certain is death and the tax man
running you down at the end of the year. This thing that we do called life is
crazy.’ He goes onto say that he is on his way to work and asks himself ‘what
am I actually doing?’
This
video is partly the reason I wanted to write a blog on this topic, because a
lot of individuals’ feel this way. We just work to make some money, have a
couple of days off, then back to it the following week and that continues on
until your time on earth comes to an end. Life can feel like a cycle of work
and money, leaving us wondering about the bigger purpose.
Is
there more to this?
The
answer is, yes. Heaven.
Heaven
should be the goal for us all and life is pointless without Heaven being your
ultimate purpose. Life is fickle. It is very unpredictable and likely to
change. Life is filled with ups and it’s filled with downs, constant good days and
continual bad days. Life is also temporary. It last for a little amount of
time, it is not permanent. As that man stated, one thing for certain is death, therefore
we must prioritise our love for God and focus on the eternal things.
It
states in 1 John 2:15-17: ‘Do not love the world or anything in the world. If
anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in
the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life
comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass
away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.’
The
Bible constantly reminds us that we are not of this world (Romans 12:2,
Philippians 3:20, James 4:4). Although we live on earth and have been described
as the ‘light of the world’ (Matthew 5:14-16) this is not our home. This is not
where it ends. God wants his children to be with him. So do not focus on the
things down here on earth, it will eventually all perish and cease to exist.
However, Heaven awaits us and God has prepared it for those who love him (1
Corinthians 2:9).
He
will wipe every tear from your eyes, there will be no more death or mourning or
crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away (Revelation 21:4).
These
verses reassure us that Heaven is a place of eternal joy and peace that the
Lord has prepared for us! Our main objective should be to get to Heaven
Life
is meaningless without Heaven being the highest aim.
God
bless x
