Enjoying the NOW

Welcome back everyone!

It has been a while since I have uploaded a blog but I am so happy to be back with another one. Today’s blog is about enjoying the now! Being at peace with where you are on your lives journey and embracing every single moment of what is happening right now.

I love where I am in my life. I am a blessed 26 year old woman who is learning about herself every single day, growing closer to God, better understanding my purpose in this life, accomplishing things I never thought I would, always striving to be better, determined to be a better version of the person I was just yesterday.

However, these thoughts can sometimes cause me to overthink my future. I find I am always waning to strive for more. Constantly asking myself ; ‘what can I do next?’ ‘what else can I achieve?’ ‘How can I get to this point?’ Although these are good, positive thoughts as it will encourage me to push myself and achieve great things, I have to remember that if I keep looking at what the next big thing is, or the next move, I am never going to be satisfied or content with where I am right now and what I have achieved so far in my life.

I was watching a video of a few Doctors getting interviewed and the interviewee asked them ‘what is your biggest regret as a medical student?’ Majority of them said ‘wishing I hadn’t been so studious, wishing I spent more time with my friends, wishing I went out more.’ They all achieved their goal but was so caught up in reaching it that they didn’t enjoy the process along the way and looking back they had regrets.

I was talking to God and this video randomly popped in my head. It encouraged me to pray to God to help me to enjoy this moment in my life and to stop overthinking about the goal ahead, stop stressing and fighting myself with where I want to be at certain points in my life and to appreciate this season I am currently in.

As much as you have your goals in life that you aspire to achieve, appreciate and embrace the process of where you currently are and enjoy every single second of it. Life is so beautiful, God created such a beautiful, amazing world and we should cherish every moment of it, cherish the blessings he has poured down on us and ‘do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own’ (Matthew 6:34).

I encourage you all to stop, take a minute, inhale in, exhale out and thank God for all he has done for you. ‘Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Be thankful unto him and bless his name’ (Psalm 100:4). There is so much to be thankful for. God has brought you from a long way. Look how far you have come! So stop stressing and worrying about what the future holds. Stop overthinking! God has guaranteed you a prosperous future. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

So enjoy the journey. Let God guide you, let God lead you, make room for him on this journey with you and stay blessed x
