Manifesting vs Praying

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another blog! If you’re new here, welcome! Today I want to speak on the topic of manifesting versus praying. I have noticed for a while now, that a lot of people get the two confused, therefore I believe it is my duty as Woman of God to address this topic and hopefully those who are reading will come to a better understanding of what manifesting and prayer is and how they are different from each other.

Manifesting is the act of bringing something into existence, through thoughts, actions, and emotions. When you focus your energy on what you want to create, you’re effectively manifesting it into existence. You’ve heard a lot of times ‘manifest what you want’, or the more popular one; ‘speak it into existence!’ (which I too have been guilty of) and if you do this, whatever you want is yours.

On the other hand, the Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6; ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.’ In Mark 11:24; it states ‘Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.’ In Matthew 21:22 it reads; ‘And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.’

Consequently, there are countless scriptures that tells us if we just pray, trust and have confidence in God our father, we will receive what we are asking for and God is so loving that he actually gives WAY MORE than we could ever imagine because God knows us better than we know ourselves. God knows us before we was even conceived in our Mothers womb – Jeremiah 1:5. He can do all things! “Our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think” - Ephesians 3:20. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work – 2 Corinthians 9:8.

Manifesting and praying is not the same thing!

You cannot speak things into existence. Only God can! In Psalms 33:9 it states; for he spoke, and it came into being; he commanded, and it came into existence. God has the power to speak things into life, however we don’t. We do not and will never have that authority or that control. If you desire something whether that’s healing, forgiveness, financial struggles, finding your spouse, whatever the case may be, you do not have the power to speak it into life. The only way is through God who is a merciful God and wants to bless you and wants to prosper you and wants you to be full of joy and peace but you need to come to him. You need to humble yourself before him.

Manifesting is the act of getting what you want in which a lot of cases doesn’t even work out that way, but prayer and supplication will give us the things we never knew we even wanted or needed! Through the mercy and will of God prayer will actually bring us true peace and joy and it will bring us closer to our true purpose and calling whilst we are down here on earth which is far more fulfilling than something that will bring you temporary happiness.

Please pray more in this new year and stay blessed xx
